MAJOR CAUSES OF CANCER
SMOKING
Smoking is by far the biggest preventable cause of cancer. Thanks to years of research, the links between smoking and cancer are now very clear. Smoking accounts for more than 1 in 4 UK cancer deaths, and nearly a fifth of all cancer cases.
SMOKING AND DRINKING TOGETHER
When you drink alcohol, cancer-causing chemicals are formed. Alcohol also affects hormone levels and makes cells even more likely to be damaged by smoking. There are lots of simple ways to cut down on alcohol.
DRY/TINNED FISH
Aim to eat oily fish two to three times a week. These fish are high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids: cod, sablefish, salmon, mackerel, sardines, and anchovies. Smaller fish (i.e. sardines, mackerel, and anchovies) causes cancer.
AIR POLLUTION
It has classified outdoor air pollution as a cancer-causing agent (carcinogen). It is evaluated that outdoor air pollution causes lung cancer and is also linked to an increased risk for bladder cancer & other different type of cancers.
